AI Primers

AI Primers offer a methodical approach to AI,
from initial thinking before the prompt to the work that follows.

Why Primers

Generative AI tools are pattern-matching engines. They are extraordinarily good at exploring the space of what is possible. Generating options, surfacing structures, flagging weaknesses, producing variations, and applying known frameworks at speed. Yet they do so with the confidence of finished outputs, never testing or challenging. Answering without knowing. Without seeking truth.
What generative AI tools cannot do is supply intent, brand, lived context, or truth. The AI does not know what you or your organization stands for. It does not know which audience member will push back in the room. It does not know what your last failed initiative taught you. It does not know what is actually true.

AI Primers provide the mindset to build, test, and know the outcome of every input. You learn to recognize when the AI's output is in service of the strategy and when it is polished over it. Your role is not to manage the AI. Your role is to direct the AI as a tool while maintaining full authorship and total responsibility for the specific claim your work is making.

What Primers Offer and How They Work

Primers are a library of frameworks and mindsets for AI work. Each one teaches a single discipline: how to set intent, how to specify, how to test the output, and how to build with the AI rather than a vending machine. They are organized by the mindset you need, not the tool you use. Every Primer includes four parts.

The Framework and Mindset.

Read this before you start. It tells you what to watch for and how to think critically about what the AI gives you back.

The Prompt.

This is what you paste into your AI tool.

The Playbook

The AI will treat its output as finished. The Playbook is how you evaluate what came back and turn it into an outcome.

The Resources

Your thinking will change as the AI responds. Sometimes the response will surprise you. Sometimes it will be wrong. This section is what to do then. What to watch for. What to prompt next. When to push further.

Bring Your Own Mindset

Unlike prompt templates, Primers focus on the mindset, critical thinking, and the frameworks to get the most out of any AI interaction.
Primers work with any generative platform because they target the user's mindset, not the machine's syntax. You can use our built-in AI Chat or bring your own corporate-approved tool.

Bring Your Own Tokens

Primers offer the ability to work with any generative platform. Primers are for enterprise customers running on an internal AI. Because they use your tokens and your platform, your security posture remains intact. The focus stays entirely on the strategic outcome you engineer.

What Primers Require from You

Typical prompt templates sharpen the AI's response. Prompt Primers sharpen the thinking and direction the AI should take. Primers require three things from you that no AI tool can supply.

Your Intent.

You know what you are trying to change. Not what you are trying to write, generate, or deliver. What you are trying to change. The intent that gives the prompt its specificity comes from you, not from the session. This is how we build the specification.

Your Authority.

You are the author. You are the one making the claim about your audience, your data, your strategy, and what the work means. The AI can help you build the structure of the claim, but it will generate plausible statistics, plausible attributions, and plausible historical details that may or may not be accurate. This is how we test the output.

Your Accountability.

You have something at stake in this work. This is not motivational language; it is a structural requirement. Accountability produces the specificity, the contrarian observation, the worked example that only someone who has done the thing would think to include. This is how we connect what the AI has produced to the outcomes you seek.

You Versus the Sophist

One final note on the Sophist's risk. The primary failure mode of AI-assisted work is rhetorically polished output that sounds correct but is not. An AI that produces confident, well-structured, jargon-free prose about a claim it cannot actually evaluate is not helping you.

It is giving you the illusion of having done the work. Every Primer focuses on what to watch for and how to test your intention against the AI's output. You are the only one in the session who can recognize the AI Sophist.
Write your awesome label here.
An AI can assist, it can perform, but it cannot know. This division of labor is the operating principle of every Primer in this library.
