The Assisting Intelligence Rubric maps four stages of AI literacy. Each stage builds real capability: evaluating, defining, directing, sparring. But each stage also carries a persistent risk that evolves with your skill.
At the earliest stage, the threat is transactional. Prompt in, output out. No evaluation. No intent. Every interaction stays surface-level, and speed masquerades as competence. Most people live here. Most AI training leaves them here.
At the highest stage, the threat wears no costume at all. The AI generates work that sounds right and feels complete. It mirrors your sophistication back to you. The better you get, the more targeted the flattery becomes. The risk is no longer ignorance. It is persuasion.
